PyQt Commercial VersionLike Qt itself, PyQt is provided under a number of licenses depending on how it is going to be used. In fact, we try and follow Trolltech's licensing model as closely as we can. The free version of PyQt is licensed under the GNU General Public License. If your use of PyQt is compatible with the GPL then you do not need to buy a commercial PyQt license. Similarly you do not need to buy a commercial Qt license. Note that, unlike PyQt4, the GPL version of PyQt3 is only available for UNIX/Linux and MacOS/X. If your use of PyQt is not compatible with the GPL then you require a commercial PyQt license. There is no functional difference between the GPL version and the commercial version of PyQt. What Does the Commercial Version Give Me?A copy of the commercial license gives you the following.
SupportWe do not provide formal support contracts for PyQt or QScintilla. Instead we provide informal support as best we can and give priority to commercial license holders. To request support, email support@riverbankcomputing.com and include your login name. Supported PlatformsOur development platforms are Linux on Intel (32 and 64 bit), Windows XP using MSVC 2008 and MacOS/X on Intel (32 bit). PyQt should build and run on any platform supported by Qt but we are unable to test on other platforms. Refund PolicyRefunds will be given at the discretion of the Company Management. |
